How to auto apply to jobs
Learn how to set up automatic job applications, choose useful filters, review matching roles, and track which applications were actually submitted.
Automatic applications start with the same decisions as a manual job search: which roles fit your experience, where you can work, and what information employers need. A useful setup reduces repeated form filling while keeping those decisions visible.
1. Prepare a current resume
Use a resume that reflects your actual experience. Check your contact information, recent job titles, dates, education, and skills. A readable PDF or DOCX gives the application tool a better starting point than a document made entirely of images. After upload, review the profile information before applying.
2. Set the filters that matter
Start with the role family and seniority you want. Add location and work setup, then your salary preference. A remote role can still require residence in a particular state or country, so read the location description. A salary filter can exclude roles with no published salary, even when those roles might fit.
3. Review a small group of matches
Before enabling recurring applications, inspect several results. Compare the responsibilities with your experience. If the results lean toward a different specialty, adjust your preferences. For example, a software engineer looking for individual contributor roles may want to exclude management roles rather than rely on the word “engineer” alone.
4. Choose manual selection or Auto Mode
On Autojob, you can select jobs from the board and confirm auto apply for that group. Auto Mode instead finds matching jobs and submits applications throughout the day, up to a daily count you set. It requires a resume and available credits. Start with a count that leaves you time to review results and employer replies.
5. Check the result, not just the queue
A queued application is waiting to run. An applying status means processing is underway. A submitted status records a confirmed submission. Keep those stages separate when counting applications. If the result is uncertain, check the existing record before trying the same role again.
6. Adjust your search using the results
Review the companies and roles receiving applications. Hide companies you want excluded from future results. Update preferences when your target role or availability changes. Reserve time for employer replies and interviews alongside new applications.
